Do You Feel Empty and Unable to Find Your Purpose?

Somewhere deep inside, you feel a void, more like a missing piece or a feeling of disconnection from yourself and the world around you. It feels like life is against you, pushing you into a struggle to find purpose and meaning in this vast world.

When this feeling comes, it comes with confusion and a lack of direction. You find it difficult to express emotions and often feel detached from your own feelings.

Yet, deep within, you know you have a purpose. You know you possess potential, you know you can be greatyou can feel that greatness. But still, you’re all over the place, scattered, confused, lost, and lonely. It’s overwhelming. Sometimes the emotions spill out when you least expect them. You might even find yourself crying in odd situations and places.

There’s no motivation here, thoughbecause you do not need it.

Motivation is a short-term solution, what happens when the motivation fades? You end up going back to your former state. The only form of motivation that you should desire is celebrating your wins.

Now first of all, take a deep breath. Hold it together and know you’re not the problem, it’s life and, most importantly, a normal human experience.

There are several reasons why you feel this way

One of them is the pressure from society. Over the years, you’ve been shaped by expectations from family, friends, customs, and different institutions that have blurred your true identity. The world has  taught you what to want, how to think, and what is considered right or wrong. You seek approval and validation. You want to be liked, valued, and appreciated just like everyone else influenced by these social constructs.

But why? This is because society has given you a collective choice. A choice that only revolves around what you were taught and limits your self-discovery. The influence of social media has actually worsened this feeling. Yet, the way people see you should not define you. What truly matters is how you see yourself. Listen to your heart.

Sometimes, however, the struggle isn’t externalit comes from within. You might be your biggest obstacle. Doubts creep in, making you question yourself. You begin to question your self-worth. You start believing you’re not enough. The weight of these thoughts keep pulling you down, preventing you from seeing your purpose. How can you find meaning if you’re drowning in negativity, self-hate, and uncertainty?

Then, there’s spiritualitythe silent guide that gets overlooked. The journey of life requires spirituality. Purpose is often connected to something greater than you. Ask yourself:

● Am I close to God?

● Have I surrendered my journey to Him?

● Do I live diligently by the principles that . guide toward fulfillment?

Most times when you stray too far from your spiritual center, life becomes meaningless. Emptiness begins to fill you up. Life loses depth and meaning fades.

Purpose is about direction. Without a destination, there’s no journey. Your goals are your destination, and your purpose is the path that leads you there. Without goals, there’s no way to define your meaning in life.

How Does This  Feeling Affect Your Life?

If you lack purpose, your life automatically becomes a mess. You’ll go through difficult psychological situations and emotions. What are these negative impacts;

  1. Lack of purpose weighs heavily on your life. It drains your mental health, pulling you into a state of depression and anxiety. You begin to lose interest in things you once loved and loneliness settles in. You will be filled with a persistent feeling of sadness whenever you remember that your life is without purpose. Without direction, productivity reduces, and self doubt creeps in.

  1. If you do not take charge of your purpose, others will do that for you. They’ll impose their expectations on you and tell you how to live your life. You have no choice but to play along. But your purpose should never be dictated by society, it belongs to you.

  1. When you lack purpose, you naturally feel inferior. You may struggle with low self esteem, believing others are better than you. This reduces your interaction with people because you feel worthless and unfit to be in their midst. But remember; no one is born more worthy than others, everyone has a special purpose to fulfill.

So How Do You Find Your Purpose?

Don’t fret, overcoming this is easy. It just needs your cooperation.

● Start with your life: Your spiritual life plays a critical role in finding your purpose. You need to establish a deep bond with your God. Embrace Him and never leave His presence, for in Him we find our path. Establishing this connection, first of all, gives you a feeling of relief. Next, you feel secured, guided, and confident to find your purpose.

●You need to know your destiny. If you have no idea what your destiny is, It would keep coming to you in several ways until you realize it. An unfulfilled destiny makes you miserable till it’s fulfilled. How do you find out your destiny in order to know your purpose? Ask yourself; what are your interests? What do you enjoy doing the most? Those things you enjoy most will give you clues on what your purpose in life is about.

Reflect on your values and beliefs. Are they really yours or are they based on what society wants from you? Reflect on yourself and find values, beliefs, and principles that resonate with you. These values are what will help you towards finding your purpose. Values that belong to you.

● Explore new experiences. Don’t just rely only on the things you’ve been accustomed to doing. Try different activities, explore new opportunities, learn new skills that may change your perspective.

● Most importantly, seek connections. Don’t just sit and wait for help to come to you. Go out, surround yourself with supportive people, mentors, friends, and communities. Connect with people who want to grow and flourish. Through meaningful relationships, you reconnect with your inner self and reaffirm your direction in life.
