Have You Discovered the Purpose Behind Your Pain?

The world we live in is a world full of pain. Many people are going through a lot: chronic illnesses, broken marriages, financial hardship, rejection, low self-esteem, barrenness, disappointment, and other challenges.

Most people in the society dress very good, look attractive, smile always, get admired by people, but deep inside them, they are going through deep pain weighing them down. This pain can lead to loneliness, depression, loss of hope, loss of purpose, and many other harsh realities.

Unfortunately, many people don't know that there is a reason behind their pain. In fact, their pain is a blessing in disguise. In this article, we shall be looking at how to discover the purpose behind the pain you are going through.

Every pain is caused by adversity. When we are confronted with a challenge, we seek solutions. Most times, our purpose in life lies in the path of the action our pain is driving us to take in order to fix our adversities.

When one suffers a divorce from an abusive marriage, from a violent partner, who hates her and beats her up, the pain from the experience will make her develop compassion for those going through the same abuse in marriages, and she will start looking for a way to help.

Probably, she entered the marriage at a very young age and never had the time to mature and know what she wanted in a man, she never took time to understand the man's character.

She may start an online program—to share her experience and teach people the dark side of early marriage. She may organize seminars, partner with NGOs, help victims of marital abuse, and raise awareness of the negative consequences of marrying at a very young age.

From the pain of divorce, she has found a purpose in helping young women avoid abusive marriages.

When one is going through low self-esteem, the pain of feeling rejected, hiding from the public and locking himself in his room all the time, the pain of feeling abandoned and lonely, will motivate him to work on himself and elevate his standard.

He starts looking for a way to improve himself. He may acquire a skill, read books, or enroll in an online course. With time, he becomes a professional in what he does, and this in turn boosts his self-esteem. Through a desire for change motivated by low self-esteem, he has found purpose by becoming a professional in the skill he has acquired.

When one is going through a chronic sickness, accompanied by severe pain and discomfort, a doctor has told him he has a slim chance of survival and he has lost hope. If he eventually survives, he will develop compassion for the sick and many people going through the same condition.

He may start hospital visitations, offering patients emotional encouragement, praying with them, and sharing his story to inspire them. From the painful illness he went through, he has found a purpose in inspiring sick people and helping them triumph over their predicament.

The pain you are going through does not mean your existence does not have worth, it is only serving as a stimulant, stimulating you to act in the direction of your destiny.

Your purpose is your destiny, and it is hidden in your pain. Take action today; ask yourself: "What can I do to fix the circumstance that I am going through today?"  When you ask yourself this question, you will discover the action to take to liberate yourself. Go ahead and take the action, and you will discover your purpose along the way.
