God Is Not An Option, He’s The Foundation of Growth.

There’s a situation I once encountered. I boarded a bus traveling to another state, and while we were on the road, we heard that there were armed people ahead of us.

At that point, it was too late for the driver to turn back. We were all in panic. Suddenly, everyone started praying, asking God for help and forgiveness. Many were promising to repent if they made it through.

I’m not trying to judge anyone, but these were people who hadn’t prayed before the journey. The only reason they did so at that moment was because they were in trouble.

We treat God like an option. Only seeking Him when things go south or when it feels convenient. But when you treat God as an option, peace, purpose, and growth become optional too.

God should be at the forefront of our lives. He is the foundation, the rock upon which we stand. Building without God is like building on sand. When the storm comes, it all falls apart. As Matthew 7:26-27 says;

And every one that heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them not, shall be likened unto a foolish man, which built his house upon the sand: and the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell: and great was the fall of it.”

Growth built on self-effort, or trends, produces temporary fruit.

Why God Must Be The Starting Point.

Personally, when I start my day without involving God, everything goes south for me. If you reflect on moments when you’ve included God and moments when you didn’t, you’ll notice the difference.

God makes life easier. He paves the way where there seems to be no way. Sometimes, we think He’s slow to answer, but in reality, that's not a delay; it’s strategy. God is a strategist. He knows the best time to act. All it takes is faith in Him.

God shouldn’t be an option. He should be your ride or die. Every little thing you do should revolve around Him. If you want to build a habit, involve Him. If life gets chaotic, call on Him. If work gets tough, ask Him for help.

He is the rock. When you build on Him, storms may come, but you will always stand firm. Real Growth begins with God, not strategy, for John 15:5 says;

“I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.”

How Do You Make God The Center of Your Life?

  1. Including God in your life shouldn’t be a weekend ritual or for Sundays alone. It’s a daily choice. Involve Him in every moment of your life. Let Him shape your decisions.

  1. Pray always. Prayer connects you with God, and trust me, He listens. Those silent prayers you mutter, or the ones you say in your heart, He hears them all. Seek His guidance before making decisions.

  1. Read the scripture. Use it to seek His guidance and to reinforce your faith in Him. It’s His words, and by these words we stand strong.

Build your life on God, and your growth will take a different dimension. Your life will flourish, and your days will be filled with peace. NEVER make Him an option.
